At Aupulent, our diamonds are created in a lab, with cutting-edge technology that eliminates the environmental impact of mining. The result, is indistinguishable, and chemically, physically, and optically the same as those grown beneath the Earth.

There are two common methods for growing cultured diamonds- High-Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). Cultured diamonds start with a tiny diamond seed. The seeds are placed in a chamber called a plasma reactor, in the case of CVD synthesis, or a large mechanical press, if manufactured by HPHT. With a combination of heat, pressure, and a carbon source, these crystals grow, layer by layer to form a rough. The rough is then planned, cut, and polished in the same way that all diamonds are, to result in the best quality diamond with optimum fire, scintillation, and brightness- real as a real diamond!

Cultured diamonds are alternatively called Lab Grown Diamonds, Man-made Diamonds, Grown Diamonds, Engineered Diamonds, or Created Diamonds. This essentially means that they are created under conditions controlled by man, but this does not take away from the fact that the material is real! That is- crystallized carbon, just as mined diamonds are.

Why choose Cultured Diamonds?

They are the only true conflict-free diamonds

Since every diamond originates in a laboratory, we can vouch that we have a worker-safe environment & controlled conditions, void of child labor and unethical practices that are common concerns of the Kimberly Process, thus making them truly conflict-free.

They are sustainable and ethical

Did you know that it takes 250 tons of rock to be mined to procure only 1 carat of a diamond? Mining can lead to land degradation, environmental calamities & ecosystem destruction. Moreover, it causes a release of toxins and carbon that results in pollution and more so, is dangerous for the health of the laborers who are subjected to long hours of cumbersome work and poor sanitation and living conditions.

When it comes to sustainability, cultured diamonds, on the other hand, are grown in controlled conditions, allow a limited amount of carbon release, and monitor processes with utmost safety and care. Knowing the origin and transparency in the process allows us to make beautiful, ethical diamonds.

They are affordable

Since our supply chain is on track, we are able to give you cultured diamonds at a fair price, without ridiculous markups and middlemen. Cultured diamonds are your answer to exceptional quality diamonds at affordable prices!

The 4 C’s

The value of a diamond is based on four characteristics: cut, clarity, color, and carat. These are often referred to as the 4 C’s. Let’s look into each one of these in greater detail.

Cut

The cut of a diamond has the greatest influence on its overall beauty because it determines how your diamond reflects light, known as the brilliance of a diamond. When cut with proper proportions and symmetrical facets, diamonds will exhibit optimum scintillation, fire, and brilliance.

Round is the most popular cut for diamonds. They are often referred to as RBC or “Round Brilliant Cut” which optimizes the diamond’s sparkle with the least possible sacrifice in carat weight. Diamonds are also cut in a variety of fancy shapes like a princess (square cut), baguette (rectangle cut), pears (drop shape), and marquise & emerald cut, to name a few.

Colour

Color is the presence of a soft tint of yellow or brown that is visible in the diamond. The absence of color in a diamond is the rarest, and therefore, the most expensive. After cut, color is considered the second most important while choosing a diamond. As per the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), color is expressed alphabetically from D to Z; D to F being colorless, G, H, I, J being near colorless and K onward having a faint tinge of yellow or brown.

Clarity

Clarity depends on the microscopic impurities that form within the diamond during the growth process. They are known as inclusions and make every diamond unique.
